Become a Member of the Emergency Response Team at your School
The Genesee Regional Emergency Response Teams are student volunteers who have undertaken a challenge. In partnership with the American Red Cross, they will participate in training courses to prepare themselves in the event of a disaster. The courses are Leadership Development, Disaster Preparedness, Mass Care, Sheltering, Feeding, Psychological First Aid and Lifesaving skills such as CPR and First Aid. This program is available in all three counties.
The Byron-Bergen, Batavia and Oakfield-Alabama Emergency Response Teams are leading the way, to be prepared in addition to becoming better citizens and the leaders of tomorrow. Their commitment may encourage other schools and organizations to follow in their footsteps and develop their own Emergency Response Teams.
