Disaster Services

Be Prepared - American Red Cross

Preparedness Information

Disaster can strike quickly and without warning. It can force you to evacuate your neighborhood or confine you to your home. What would you do if basic services--water, gas, electricity or telephones--were cut off? Local officials and relief workers will be on the scene after a disaster, but they cannot reach everyone right away. Therefore, the best way to make your family and your home safer is to be prepared before disaster strikes.

The Genesee Regional Chapter is seeking volunteers for the Disaster Action Team (DAT). DAT members provide assistance to  families and individuals who have suffered a disaster locally. Training is provided. Please contact the Red Cross if you think you would like to help.

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.  Disasters like fires, floods, and winter storms affect the citizens of Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming County regularly. By making a financial gift to the American Red Cross,  you enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disasters.. Thank you for your support
